On Support Varieties for Modules over Complete Intersections
Let (A, m, k) be a complete intersection of codimension c, and k̃ the algebraic closure of k. We show that every homogeneous algebraic subset of k̃c is the cohomological support variety of an A-module, and that the projective variety of a complete indecomposable maximal Cohen-Macaulay A-module is connected.
متن کاملWhich Schubert varieties are local complete intersections?
We characterize by pattern avoidance the Schubert varieties for GLn which are local complete intersections (lci). For those Schubert varieties which are local complete intersections, we give an explicit minimal set of equations cutting out their neighborhoods at the identity. Although the statement of our characterization only requires ordinary pattern avoidance, showing that the Schubert varie...
متن کاملExt-SYMMETRY OVER QUANTUM COMPLETE INTERSECTIONS
We show that symmetry in the vanishing of cohomology holds for graded modules over quantum complete intersections. Moreover, symmetry holds for all modules if the algebra is symmetric.
متن کاملSome Properties of Complete Intersections in "good" Projective Varieties
In [10] it was proved that, if X denotes a non singular surface which is a complete intersection in P£ (k an algebraically closed field of characteristic 0) and C an irreducible curve on X, which is a set-theoretic complete intersection in X, then C is actually a complete intersection in X the key point was to show that Pic (X) modulo the subgroup generated by the class of Θx(l) is torsion-free...
متن کاملOn toric varieties which are almost set-theoretic complete intersections
We describe a class of affine toric varieties V that are set-theoretically minimally defined by codimV + 1 binomial equations over fields of any characteristic.
